The ambiance is casual yet refined, creating the perfect environment for a relaxed meal with friends or family. From the moment you sit down, the attentive staff ensures you’re well taken care of, providing recommendations and explaining the menu in detail.

The menu is a true representation of traditional Italian pizza, offering a wide variety of options that cater to different tastes. The wood-fired pizzas are the highlight here. The dough is perfectly thin, crispy on the outside, and soft on the inside, creating the ideal base for a flavorful topping. The ingredients are fresh, and each pizza is crafted with care, from the classic Margherita to more adventurous combinations.

A personal favorite is the Quattro Stagioni, a pizza that combines four distinct flavors: savory mushrooms, sweet tomatoes, rich olives, and creamy artichokes. It’s a delightful mix of textures and tastes, and the wood-fired cooking process enhances each element, giving it a unique smoky flavor. You can also enjoy specialty pizzas like the Diavola, topped with spicy salami, or the seafood pizza with fresh prawns and mussels.

For those who prefer something different, Pizzeria Valona also offers a selection of pasta dishes. The Spaghetti Bolognese is a comforting classic, made with a rich tomato sauce and slow-cooked beef that melts in your mouth. Another standout is the lasagna, packed with layers of pasta, béchamel sauce, and a flavorful meat filling.

The dessert menu is just as impressive. The Tiramisu is a crowd favorite, light and creamy with the perfect balance of coffee flavor. The homemade gelato is another indulgence, offering a variety of flavors such as rich chocolate, tangy lemon, and velvety vanilla. If you’re looking for something a bit more refreshing, the lemon sorbet is a great option, offering a tart and sweet ending to your meal.

Pizzeria Valona takes pride in its commitment to quality, using locally sourced ingredients wherever possible. The owners have cultivated relationships with local suppliers, ensuring that only the best products are used in their dishes. The attention to detail in every aspect of the food is evident, and this dedication has earned Pizzeria Valona a loyal customer base.

In terms of reviews, customers consistently rave about the friendly service, fresh ingredients, and flavorful dishes. Many have shared their experiences of enjoying a meal in a cozy setting, with one reviewer commenting that the pizzas are “authentically delicious” and the “service is always warm and welcoming.” The reputation of Pizzeria Valona continues to grow, with new patrons flocking to the restaurant to try the famous wood-fired pizzas and other Italian specialties.

Stopped here for dinner. Delicious home-made pizzas, great size with generous toppings. One of the best pizzas we've had, staff were welcoming too.

It was simply fantastic! Excellent bruschetta, one of the best pizzas I have ever eaten and a delicious salad for my companion - followed by homemade tiramisu and tartufo of the finest quality! Thank you for the very attentive and extremely friendly service and for letting me buy a bottle of the phenomenal balsamic vinegar. It was a very successful evening!

Food was amazing!! Had one of the best pizzas I have ever had in my life! Meatballs were very good, they tasted home made. The ambience and the music were perfect, made us feel very cosy. People were very friendly as well. Overall, best pizza place in Dorset :) Grazie.

I have to say that this place won my heart, simply one of the best pizzerias in the town. Excellent service, everyone was super smiling and made me and my friends feel at home, they were super friendly with our dog and everyone in the restaurant were happy to have her there. The food is beyond words, the pizza made in the wood oven makes all the difference. 5 stars, I recommend trying this incredible place.

I visited once on our staff Christmas meal in early December, and since then it has become a mainstay for whenever my partner and I are looking to get pizza. Cosy atmosphere, warm, welcoming staff, brilliant food, and the tiramisu is to die for.

Visiting from Canada - Arguably the best pizza I've ever had in my life, and the balsamic they use is without a doubt the best I've ever tasted (outstanding on salads - they very kindly let me purchase a bottle)! Our repeat server/host from Naples was the best, but great service and hospitality all around which is why we returned multiple times for meals while visiting Poole. Wish there was a spot as good in Canada; can't wait to return.

We dined here at 5pm last Sunday evening with our disabled foster child. The staff were very welcoming and accommodating for his wheelchair considering the layout. The chef is from Sardinia. Ambience was very relaxing - our foster child was calmer than usual. My wife said her coffee was very nice. My gluten free pizza was the best I've ever eaten. I just wish they also did sourdough pizza which my stomache also tolerates. Will definitely be back.
